Lecture: How Green Growth Can Revive the Economy
Professor Robert Pollin of the UMass Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) will deliver this lecture as part of the Spring 2009 Operations Research / Management Science Seminar series. All are invited to attend.
The topic of this lecture is "How Green Growth Can Revive the Economy."
Abstract:
It was long believed that protecting the environment was a barrier to economic prosperity. Robert Pollin's recent research shows the contrary: that building a clean energy economy can also be an engine of growth and job creation, throughout the U.S. and in Massachusetts specifically. The economic recovery program being developed by the Obama administration builds from these ideas. Pollin will discuss his approach and some prospects for using green recovery as a tool for countering the current severe recession.
