Unveiling of Mural by Belfast Artists

This event has been postponed until a later date to be announced.

This formal unveiling of a mural jointly painted by renown Belfast muralists, Danny Devenny and Mark Ervine, celebrates the reconciliation work by artists whose communities were formerly at war and the contribution of their public art to the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

This is part of The Art of Conflict Transformation Event Series which brings artists, academics, and conflict resolvers to UMass Amherst to explore the geography of conflict transformation in Northern Ireland/the north of Ireland; the contested terrains of public space and public narrative where conflict has been expressed and a shared future is under negotiation.

This transatlantic event series is sponsored by UMass Amherst in conjunction with partners in Belfast and is taking place this spring and during the 2009-2010 academic year.

There will be live traditional Irish music and refreshments
