Exhibit: Sight Mapping
Herter Gallery at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is pleased to present "Sight Mapping," a mixed-media exhibition featuring works by David Brody, Mark Lombardi, Joomi Chung, Marco Maggi, Dianna Cooper, Dominic McGill, Vernon Fisher, Rebecca Riley, Richard Garrison, Jane South, Emily Ginsburg, Dannielle Tegeder, Barry Le Va, and Dan Zeller. The premise of the exhibition is based upon the variety of ways in which contemporary artists have paraphrased, anthologized, or otherwise adapted the conventions of map-making or cartography, employing them as a vehicle for image-generation. Two of the participating artists – Joomi Chung and Dan Zeller – are UMass alumni.
Gallery hours are Mon. through Fri., 11-4, and Sun. 1-4. The gallery is closed on Saturdays.
The exhibition is free and open to the public.
