UMass Amherst Debate Tournament
The UMass Debate Team, together with the Department of Political Science, is hosting a regional tournament for teams across the northeast, including: Cornell, NYU, West Point, Boston College, University of Vermont, University of Rochester, The New School, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, RIT, Bard, St. John's College, Western Connecticut State University, Wilkes University, West Virginia University, and Dartmouth. Teams will compete on both Saturday and Sunday in two formats of debate: policy and worlds (also known as parliamentary). The tournament will feature some of the best teams and students in the debate community, and the funds raised over the course of the weekend will go toward supporting the UMass Debate Team in its continued presence as a nationally-ranked team. Observers and those interested in competitive debate are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
