Behavioral Economics and Climate Change Policy

As part of its Change Climate Policy series, the Center for Public Policy and Administration (CPPA) presents guest lecturer John Gowdy (Rittenhouse Teaching Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) and his talk, "Behavioral Economics and Climate Change Policy."

Gowdy (PhD, Western Virginia University) focuses on decision-making outside the traditional "rational man" model in economics, including behaviors and policies that relate to environmental degradation and sustainability. He is President-Elect of the International Society for Ecological Economics. His recent books include Paradise for Sale: A Parable of Nature (with Carl McDaniel), Limited Wants, Unlimited Needs: A Reader on Hunter-Gatherer Economics and the Environment, and Microeconomic Theory Old and New: A Student's Guide.
