The Occupation of Afghanistan: Myths and Realities
The presidential candidates of both mainstream political parties agree that the real war is in Afghanistan. They are both proposing phased re-deployments of troops from Iraq to Afghanistan.
Why is the U.S. really interested in Central Asia? Now it is proposing that thousands of troops be sent there in the name of "stabilization" and "democracy."
In a time of economic crisis and a shift in foreign policy it is time to arm ourselves with the realities of this occupation.
