How Infants Communicate: Latest Brain Development Research
This week's speaker is Dr. Lisa Scott, Ph.D. Dr. Scott is a developmental psychologist in the UMass Psychology Department. Professor Scott’s research involves the study of the neural mechanisms of perceptual category learning and perceptual experience in primarily developmental, but also adult, populations.
Using both behavioral and electrophysiological methods (high-density event-related potentials), Professor Scott’s work focuses on how specific visual experiences influence how infants and adults learn to recognize and categorize various types of objects (including faces, cars, birds, etc).
Dinner on Us is a weekly speaker series on topics related to parenting, geared towards families with young children (up to 5 years old). All who are interested are welcome to attend.
