Art Exhibit: Karen Dolmanisth's Lifelines of Connections and Continuity
University Gallery is pleased to announce a time-based installation and performance by area artist Karen Dolmanisth, taking place over a 10-day period on Isle of View, located on the UMass Campus Pond.
Taking cues from George Trakas' environmental sculpture "Isle of View" and the natural autumn surroundings, Karen Domanisth's temporary site-work will be based on a composition of measured parallel, overlapping and intersecting lines that are made with white cotton and wool thread, upon which will be strung evenly spaced autumn leaves of transforming color.
Viewers are encouraged to return to Isle of View, from October 4th – 14th, to observe how the artist transforms her artwork by means of a day-by-day process.
