Lecture: Firms of Endearment: How World-Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose

Professor Rajendra S. Sisodia of Bentley College will be discussing his book Firms of Endearment: How World-Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose at this week's Marketing Department Seminar. All are invited to attend.

Firms of Endearment illuminates a fundamental transformation that is currently underway: the rise of “conscious capitalism”. It’s not about “corporate social responsibility;” it’s about having a higher purpose (than profit maximization) and creating business models that align the interests of all stakeholders into a synergistic whole.

Increasingly, today’s most successful companies bring love, joy, authenticity, empathy, and soulfulness into their businesses by delivering emotional, experiential, and social value—not just profits. This book is about gaining “share of heart,” not just share of wallet. It’s about building companies that leave the world a better place. Most of all, it’s about why companies must do all this, or risk being left in the dust... and how they can get there from wherever they are now.
