This is the second event of 2008-09 Feinberg Lecture Series, an interdisciplinary exploration of the historical, ethical, legal, and other dimensions of "measuring the value of human life."
Daniel Boyarin is the Hermann P. and Sophia Taubman Professor of Talmudic Culture, Department of Near Eastern Studies and Rhetoric at the University of California at Berkeley. He is author of "Dying for God: Martyrdom and the Making of Christianity and Judaism."
Carlin Barton is Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is author most recently of "Roman Honor: The Fire in the Bones."
