University Without Walls Information Session
The UMass Amherst University Without Walls is a program offering the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree that’s flexible, convenient, and interdisciplinary in nature.
For over 35 years, the University Without Walls (UWW) has offered adult degree programs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. UWW is geared toward returning students who have life and work experiences, but who have been unable to finish a bachelor’s degree. Over three thousand students have earned degrees through UWW and a large number of those have gone on to earn higher level degrees.
UWW offers courses live on campus in Amherst, online, and in a blended format (some live and some online). In addition to individualized courses of study and a variety of flexible enrollment options, students can develop a portfolio documenting, analyzing, and reflecting on their learning from experience to present for academic credit. UWW also collaborates in educational partnerships with a variety of public and private organizations. One very special characteristic of UWW is that we offer unusually comprehensive and supportive advising for our students as well as prospective students. For a preview of our UWW program features, please visit the University Without Walls web site.
You may sign up for a small group information session with a UWW representative who will review all the key features of UWW and answer your questions. These sessions are about 1–1½ hours each and are held at the UWW office in Hadley, MA. If you prefer to sign up by telephone rather than online, call (413)545-1378.
