Giving Tree: A simple act of generosity
This annual event offered at the Newman Catholic Center gives us all a chance to make the holiday season brighter for a local child.
Some 700 ornaments on the tree in the Newman Center Chapel are labelled with modest requests for clothing, boots and shoes, and bedding.
Come into the chapel, look over the tree! (Bldg. hours: Sun-Thurs 7 am-10:30 pm. Fri 7 am-5 pm. Sat 8 am-6 pm.)
Select one or several ornaments labelled "socks, for female 3 yr old" or "a pair of warm gloves, large, for male 14 yr old" "a pillow, for female 12 year old," and so forth, then purchase and wrap the gifts.
Attach the ornament, code-side-up, onto the gift and place the gift under the Giving Tree by noon on December 12.
The children will receive your gifts in good time for the holiday season.
