Engineering Pathogen Resistance in Mosquitoes
Dr. Anthony James, member of the National Academy of Science and Distinguished Professor in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at the University of California School of Medicine, will present a research seminar on the use of transgenic technologies for deriving mosquitoes which are refractory to infection with some of the world's most deadly disease agents, including malaria and dengue fever. Dr. James is this year's Alexander Memorial Speaker in Entomology.
