Documentary: Forgotten Refugees

Forgotten Refugees details the forced expulsion of 1,000,000 Jews from their homes in Arab countries in the 20th century.

Jews had been living in Arab lands since before the rise of Islam. Yet, throughout the centuries, the Islamist concept of "dhimmitude" subjugated Jews and Christians to lower status in Arab-Muslim societies. Persecution culminated in the years 1940-1960 when about 1,000,000 Jews were either murdered in anti-Jewish uprisings or forced out of their homes. Many of these Jews moved to Israel, where today they make up the majority of the Jewish population in Israel. Jews from Arab countries have contributed a lot to Israel's culture.

Groups such as Justice for Jews from Arab Countries demand that any Arab-Israeli peace treaty provide recognition for these 1,000,000 Jews. Visit www.justiceforjews.com to learn more.

In fact, the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee just approved Resolution 185 calling for such recognition.
