Tinnitus Information Seminar
Tinnitus, a ringing or other noise in the ears or head, affects more than fifty million Americans. For most, the symptom is annoying, though not intrusive. For others, tinnitus is chronic and distressing.
At the Tinnitus Information Seminar, speakers will discuss the causes of tinnitus, our reactions to tinnitus, and how we can better manage the impact that tinnitus has on our lives.
Speakers will include Dr. Ted Mason of Ear, Nose and Throat Associates of Springfield; David Scherer, Ph.D., a psychologist and professor in the Psychology Department at UMass Amherst; Patricia Mercaitis, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist and professor in the Communicaton Disorders Department and director of the Center for Language, Speech, and Hearing at UMass Amherst; and Lisa Rickard, MA, CCC-A, an audiologist and clinical supervisor at the Center for Language, Speech, and Hearing at UMass Amherst.
