Friends of the Fine Arts Center 19th Annual Gala and Auction
The Fine Arts Center 19th Annual Gala and Auction offers something for every mood, every desire: intimate jazz, incendiary salsa, and romancing to (or singing) to the oldies -- not to mention great food, terrific company, and a fantastic array of auction items.
The online auction goes live at 8am January 7 and closes at midnight February 2, the night of the Gala, with bidding stations at the event. This will allow everyone, not just Gala attendees, to partake in the many wonderful items offered through the auction donated by local businesses.
The online auction will be busting with over 100 treasures of fine arts, original creations, getaways, catered parties, vacation homes, and more. Highlights include fabulous trips such as a one week stay at the exclusive Sloane Club in London, a Tuscan villa, Disney getaway package, or Couples Resort in Jamaica; 2007 World Series Red Sox memorabilia; golfing packages and New England Revolution Clubhouse tickets; an exquisite white gold, diamond and amethyst briolette cut drop pendant; a Dell laptop computer, BlackBerry, and Bose SoundDock; and fine art by Scott Prior, Mallory Lake, and George Trakas, among others.
Gala and Auction proceeds benefit the UMass Fine Arts Center’s Artist Community Educational Residencies. Artist residencies bring artists together with students, teachers, and community members to deepen learning in, through, and about the arts. Our residency activities this fall, both on campus and off, have reached more than 7,000 people! Fall activities included: Jose Limón dancers at all Five Colleges, Noche Flamenca in a workshop with a local class, Miguel Zenón in two public high schools, and Kevin Reese at an elementary school.
