Title: "Persuasiveness: From Indus Valley to the Pioneer Valley"

Abstract:

The focus of this presentation is persuasiveness. How has this been referred to and conceptualized? What makes a message more or less persuasive? What role does it play in changing behaviors? I will address these questions by reviewing one published paper on the role of persuasiveness in influencing littering behavior and then present research (with Bill Diamond & Rajiv Kashyap) on charitable giving that is under review.
