Technology Innovation Challenge Executive Summary & Elevator Pitch Competition

Open to the Public! Come watch nine student teams pitch their business ideas in a competition to win one of four prizes: $5,000 for the winning team; two honorable mention awards of $1,000 each; and a $2,500 people’s choice award.

The Technology Innovation Challenge is supported by the College of Engineering, the Isenberg School of Management and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and is open to undergraduates, graduate students and recent alumni of UMass Amherst. The purpose of the TIC is to encourage the best entrepreneurial plans for businesses based on hot new technologies conceived on campus. Entry information is available at www.umass.edu/innovation.

The second, or spring, phase of the TIC is planned for May 8th of 2008, when more than $60,000 in prize money will be awarded. The additional prize money is geared to work as an added incentive for teams to enter the TIC. The two platinum sponsors of the TIC are the law firm of Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks and Saint-Gobain High-Performance Materials.
