Lecture: "Is There A Left Left?" with Alexander Cockburn
Public lecture by Alexander Cockburn, columnist for The Nation and co-editor of Counterpunch and JoAnn Wypijewski, contributing writer for Harpers and Mother Jones.
An overwhelming majority of Americans oppose the Iraq war, but, thus far, the peace movement has failed to force a withdrawal or even a change in direction. A large majority also opposes rising inequality in the United States, but the trend has continued unabated for a generation. Why hasn’t the left been more successful in organizing around these and related core issues? What needs to be done differently?
Alexander Cockburn and JoAnn Wypijewski, two of the most distinguished political journalists in the United States, will explore these and related questions in their lecture and discussion.
