The Visiting Writers Series at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites you to a fiction reading by Joanna Scott.

Joanna Scott is the author of seven novels, including Liberation and Make Believe, and two collections of short fiction, Various Antidotes and Everybody Loves Somebody. Her books have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN-Faulkner. Her awards include a MacArthur Fellowship, a Lannan Literary Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Visiting Writers Series events are sponsored by the MFA Program for Poets and Writers and the Juniper Initiative, the UMass Arts Council, the UMass Alumni Association, Vice Provost of Research, The English Department, and The Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts. These readings are intended to generate cross-over audiences and to connect thematically with the exhibition Ex Libris: Matthew Higgs and Peter Wüthrich and to the Museums10 project, BookMarks: A Celebration of the Art of The Book.

All events are free and open to the public.
