Book Talk - The Biography of William Wheeler
Mr. Tetsuro Takasaki, veteran journalist, will introduce his newest publication - the biography of William Wheeler. Wheeler, an alumnus of Massachusetts Agricultural College, accompanied William S. Clark to Hokkaido to establish the Sapporo Agricultural College. When Clark returned to Massachusetts, Wheeler stayed on and became its second president.
Mr. Takasaki and Dr. Nakazawa will discuss their research in both Japan and the United States and why Wheeler's work (compared to Clark's) has been overlooked by both Americans and Japanese.
