With stunning agility, Noche Flamenca creates a dynamic interplay among instrumental music, the bold, pure tones of flamenco singing and powerful footwork. Born of passion and desire, Noche Flamenca was founded in Madrid in 1993 by artistic director Martin Santangelo and his wife, Soledad Barrio. The company's vitality, energy and passion have won accolades around the world.

There will be a pre-performance "Talk-Back" with Artistic Director Martin Santangelo at 6:30pm.

Whet your appetite for flamenco with Flamenco, a landmark film by Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura. This film is a tribute to the beauty and diversity of Spain's national dance and features outstanding performances by Joaquin Cortez, Manolo Sanlucar, Paco De Lucia and more than 300 performers. This is a veritable feast of exciting flamenco dances, songs and guitar playing. The film will be shown for free on Sunday, September 30 at 5:00 p.m. in Herter Hall.

Before you experience the passion that is flamenco, indulge your taste buds with a Spanish-inspired dinner prior to the show at the University Club. Choose from Sweet & Savory Marinated Pork Tenderloin with Onion Marmalade & Yellow Saffron Rice or the vegetarian option of Sweet & Savory Risotto Cakes with Onion Marmalade & Wilted Greens. Dinner also includes tossed baby greens with dressing, warm rolls, a special selection of desserts, and coffee or tea, all for the prix fixe of $25. Seating begins at 5:00 p.m.
