University of Massachusetts Amherst

Adobe Day: Adobe Acrobat 8 Training

Adobe Systems will return to UMass once again to provide two training and information sessions on Adobe Acrobat 8. All are invited to attend, and refreshments will be provided.

Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional software allows you to communicate and collaborate with confidence, within and beyond the campus. This session will cover the techniques, the best practices, and what’s new for simplifying administrative, teaching and research document workflows using Adobe PDF.

We will take a look at how Acrobat 8 Professional allows staff and faculty to build intelligent, ad-hoc forms, collect data instantly, and enable hidden features in the free Adobe Reader so that anyone can complete, attach files to, save, sign, and submit forms electronically. You will learn how the software converts all kinds of content, including rich multimedia and 3D, into a document format that anyone can review and consume for eLearning, curriculum, research or administrative purposes. Also, we will introduce the capabilities of the software for online and offline reviews, multimedia incorporation, and creation of packages of documents for distribution.

Presenting both sessions will be Ali Hanyaloglu, Technical Evangelist for Acrobat in Education with Adobe Systems Incorporated. Ali is a Certified Adobe Expert in Acrobat, InDesign and FrameMaker, and has helped schools, universities and businesses understand and implement Adobe PDF and Acrobat technologies for ten years. Ali is also a UMass Amherst alum. Bring your notepads, as you’re sure to learn a few new things!
