Jazz in July Performance Showcase: "Personal Approaches To Improvisation"

Jazz in July (July 9 - July 20) brings together talented amateur musicians to train with some of the industry's most respected artists for two weeks of intensive study in jazz improvisation every summer - and live performance, open to the public, is an integral part of the program mix.

The Jazz in July Lecture and Performance Series is a unique opportunity for jazz fans, students and teachers to connect with the music and musicians who teach and perform at Jazz in July each summer. Every lecture/performance/demonstration features one or more faculty artists expanding on his or her insights and approaches to topics within the broader scope of what is jazz.

"Jazz in July Showcase: Personal Approaches To Improvisation" is an hour and 15 minute jazz festival, Jazz in July style, featuring performances by: John Blake, violin; Bruce Diehl, saxophone; Bob Ferrier, guitar; Catherine Jenson-Hole, vocals; Mark Holovnia, drums; Jeff Holmes, trumpet/piano; Chip Jackson, bass; Andy Jaffe, piano; Steve Johns, drums; Sheila Jordan, vocals; Genevieve Rose, bass; Billy Taylor, piano; and Frederick Tillis, saxophone.
