Exhibition: The Experience of Color: Ann Veronica Janssens and Diana Thater

This exhibition celebrates the sensual basis of color, its subjectivity, and its natural capacity to convey feeling and evoke emotion. It focuses on the ability of color to overcome the categorical distinctions of form/content and figure/ground and reach beyond the constructs of thought directly to the senses and the emotions. Color extends beyond the objects before the viewer and moves directly to the viewer's subjective responses.

Belgian artist Ann Veronica Janssens creates "propositions" or "interventions" that explore the relationship between time and space.

Los Angeles artist, Diana Thater's video installations focus on the relationship among animals, human beings, and technology. Her site-specific video projections use a palette of red, green, and blue, the basic chromatic elements of video projection technology.

Opening Reception: March 28, 6-8 pm. During the opening reception a gallery talk between artist Ann Veronica Janssens and curator Gregory Salzman will shed additional light on the exhibition.
