Film: An Inconvenient Truth
Join other students at UMass who are concerned about Global Warming for a free screening of An Inconvenient Truth, which "offers a passionate and inspirational look at one man's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. That man is former Vice President Al Gore, who is seen as never before in the media - funny, engaging, open and downright on fire about getting the surprisingly stirring truth about what he calls our 'planetary emergency' out to ordinary citizens before it's too late. "
The film will be introduced by Political Science Professor Peter Haas, who was recently invited to speak at the United Nations Environment Organization (UNEO) Paris Conference for Global Ecological Governance on climate change issues.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion led by UMass professors from many departments, to provide a wide range of expertise on the issue.
**The MASSPIRG Campus Climate Challenge has been offered the screening rights to this film from Swank Motion Pictures for participating in "The Week of Climate Action".
