University of Massachusetts Amherst

Speakers Bureau Spring Training

The Stonewall Center, the LGBT Center at UMass Amherst, is looking for volunteers to join our Speakers Bureau to educate others about LGBT issues. To be a member, you must attend a training. Dinner will be provided.

What Is the Speakers Bureau?

We are students and community members who share stories about our experiences as lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender (LGBT) individuals and heterosexual allies to educate others.

Why We Speak?

We speak because we believe that fear, homophobia, and transphobia, and the resulting oppression and violence of heterosexism are products of ignorance. By letting you get to know us, we hope to dispel some of the myths, stereotypes, and misinformation present in society about LGBT people. We are committed to breaking the silence by talking with people about out lives.

If you are interested in joining the Speakers Bureau, please contact Emily at the Stonewall Center.
