Set in late 1970’s Haiti, this emotionally complicated film, starring Charlotte Rampling, focuses on three middle-aged women who seek pleasure with young local men. Adapted from short stories by Haitian writer Dany Laferrière, Cantet’s powerful film examines aging, interracial desire and the darker politics of sexual tourism. Winner, ‘CinemAvvenire’ and Marcello Mastroianni Awards, Venice Film Festival.
