BFA Exhibition: Caitlin Nesbit

BFA Sculpture Exhibition: Caitlin Nesbit

Closing Reception: Friday December 15, 5-7pm

Caitlin’s sculptural work explores the fragile interrelationship between humans and the natural world. By examining cyclical systems such as ocean tides, seasonal changes, and bodily functions, cause and effect relationships are revealed which directly depend upon the circulation of water. Visceral forms call attention to the disturbance of microcosms, or “little universes” affected by changes within the environment. Among other materials, clay and wax provide the primary voices for this investigation. Using topological maps as her guide, a new set of “coordinate points” are formed during the quest for anchors of stability within the colliding forces of society and nature.
