And even the mainstream media was forced to conclude that this election was a referendum on Bush and the war - and that millions of people are disgusted with the direction this country is headed. This has raised the confidence and hopes of millions of people who want to see change. But the Democrats are already trying to lower the expectations and are talking about partnering with Republicans.
