Exhibit: Local Treaures: Scenes and Variations

"Local Treasures: Scenes and Variations," is an exhibit of photographs and woven paper by Elisa K Campbell.

Campbell, a technical consultant with the UMass Amherst Office of Information Technologies, has been interested in nature photography since she had her first camera. The show includes images of: the light at dawn on our regional landscape features; panoramic views of local scene; and woven paper images, usually combining photographs and watercolor painting.

Campbell earned a Ph.D. in English literature from UMass Amherst in 1980 while being active in local politics and environmental issues. Her passion for the natural environment informs her artistic interests as she strives to capture and present the beauty around us.

There will be an opening reception at the gallery on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 5-8 p.m., coinciding with the Amherst Art Walk.
