Looking Back from 2006

Collage and paintings by Mary Bernstein

Opening Reception: Tuesday November 28, 5-7pm with an artist talk at 6pm.

"Broken News" is an exhibit of 53 double sided panels, each representing one week of the year from 9/11/01-9/11/02. One side is a collage of news headlines and images arranged with the artist's personal material and journal. The other side is an original painting of the week. As time passes, this collection becomes more like an archive. The details are still memorable because of their heightened context but their importance begins to reside more in how they represent the beginning steps of a significant historical change.

All events are free and open to all.
