Free Your Mind, Free Your Body: A Forum on Race, Racism, Health and Body Image
Issues of race, racism, health and body image come together in an interactive panel discussion with a particular focus on ALANA communities.
Panelists include:
• Stephen Jefferson, Ed.D., Department of Sports Management;
• Greg Little, M.D., Sports Medicine, University Health Services;
• Hermence Matsotsa, M.P.H. candidate, University Health Services; and
• Rani Varghese, M.S.W., doctoral student, Social Justice Education.
Topics will include skin color; beauty standards; eating disorders; women's and men's views of their bodies; health issues; and more.
The event is sponsored by the Malcolm X Center; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; the Women's Health Project; and the ALANA Health Outreach and Education program of University Health Services.
