Sexual and Reproductive Justice: A Public Health Imperative
Gloria Feldt, former President of Planned Parenthood, will speak on “Sexual and Reproductive Justice: A Public Health Imperative”
Feldt, who is the author of Behind every Choice Is a Story and The War on Choice, has been called “the voice of experience” by People Magazine for good reason. The birth control pill saved her life when she was a 20-year-old mother of three. This simple pubic health advance allowed her to restore her health and pursue her education. It forged her commitment to sexual and reproductive justice, and eventually propelled her to serve from 1996-2005 as president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation’s largest provider of reproductive health care. She will discuss the imperative today for bold public health leadership to protect our advances and assure access to sexual and reproductive health services for all people.
Her talk will be followed by a book signing.
This event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Center for Research and Education in Women’s Health, the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, the School of Nursing, and the Women’s Studies Department.
