Lecture: When Farmers Die: Inequality and the Agrarian Crisis in Global India

P. Sainath has worked as a journalist and social commentator in India for the past 24 years. His book, Everybody Loves a Good Drought, brought national and global recognition to the media blackout on rural inequality in a rapidly globalizing India. In this lecture, Sainath will focus on the recent issue of the politics of farmer suicides in India, with implications for broader debates about globalization and inequality.
