Visiting Writers Series: Poet Thomas Sayers Ellis
The Visiting Writers Series at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites you to a poetry reading by Thomas Sayers Ellis on Thursday, October 5, at 8 pm in Memorial Hall.
Thomas Sayers Ellis is the author of the poetry collections and chapbooks The Good Junk, The Genuine Negro Hero, The Maverick Room, and Song On. He has received fellowships from the Mrs. Giles Whiting Writers Foundation, The MacDowell Colony, The Fine Arts Work Center, and Yaddo.
Visiting Writers Series events are sponsored by the MFA Program for Poets and Writers and the Juniper Initiative, the UMass Arts Council, the UMass Alumni
Association, Vice Provost of Research, The English Department, and The Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts.
All events are free and open to the public.
