Technology Workshops for Faculty

Academic Computing is offering a full schedule of workshops this June. These hands-on workshops give faculty a chance to learn about a new technology while working with content from their own courses.

These workshops fill up quickly, so register early!

Workshops on basic use of technology for teaching:

- Overview of available teaching technologies

- Basic creation of digital documents using PDF

- Basic introduction to digital images

- Basic presentation building in PowerPoint

- Basic grade management using Excel

Workshops about course Web sites:

- Creating public course Web sites using Dreamweaver

- Creating course Web sites in WebCT Campus Edition 4.1

- Building quizzes and surveys in WebCT Campus Edition 4.1

- Using communications tools in WebCT Campus Edition 4.1

Workshops about digital video:

- Basic digital video capture and editing in iMovie (MacOS)

- Basic digital video capture and editing in Movie Maker (Windows)

- High-end video editing with Final Cut Pro

Workshops on emerging technologies:

- Using blogs, wikis and podcasts to distribute classroom content
