English Concert
The English Concert, under Andrew Manze’s inspired leadership, has been described as having "spontaneous freshness, exhilaration, sharpness of detail and sheer fun" and all this in the space of a single concert review. Audiences throughout the world have responded enthusiastically to the orchestra’s new Artistic Director whose distinctive mixture of informality and serious musical aims breathes new life into well-known masterpieces and little known repertoire. For its Amherst appearance, the orchestra will perform music by Bach and Mozart.
