Mombasa Party/Royal Drummers of Burundi
Mombasa Party is a get-together of some of East Africa??½s most well-known Taarab artists. It??½s a wonderful mixture of Swahili and Indian Film songs. They will be joined by one of the greatest percussion ensembles in the world - the Royal Drummers of Burundi. The Royal Drummers channel the energy and creative spirit of a nation through these drums and the rituals surrounding them. Their massed drum sound, or ??½Burundi beat??½ as it has become known, has influenced a lot of western artists since the 60??½s. Their live performances are the ultimate African drum experience.
