Affirming Diversity: A Symposium Honoring the Legacy of Sonia Nieto
This is the daytime portion of the two-part tribute event to Sonia Nieto, Professor Emerita, The School of Education.
The Symposium will consist of concurrent sessions addressing topics in PK-12 and higher dducation/research, a keynote address, a musical performance, a complimentary brunch, and closing remarks from Sonia Nieto.
Presenters include K-12 Practitioners Wilma Ortiz, Elizabeth Capifali, and Mary Cowey, School of Education faculty members from the Language, Literacy and Culture concentration, and alumnus Jason Irizarry. A special musical performance will be provided by Crocker Farm School fifth graders.
This activity is free and open to the public but requires registration by May 22.
Registration to this event can be made in conjunction with or independent from The Evening Dinner Tribute.
