Conference: Policy and The Everyday
The Graduate Association for the Anthropology of Europe (GAAE) presents a two-day conference, titled "Policy & The Everyday."
This third annual GAAE conference aims to provide a forum for interdisciplinary dialogue about policy and policy-related issues, with particular emphasis on research conducted in the United States and Europe. Some of the questions that will be engaged by participants and keynote speakers include: What theories are best suited to understanding the role of policy in neoliberal states? What new research methodologies might be applied to study policy, policymaking communities, and the effects of policy? What is the role of ethnography in the study of policy?
We envision this conference, which is free and open to the public, as an opportunity for faculty, graduate students, and alumni to discuss their research as it relates to policy and its effects. We aim for productive dialogue within and among disciplines including, but not limited to, anthropology, communications, economics, education, history, labor studies, legal studies, political science, sociology, and public policy.
