Engineers Without Borders Kenya Meeting
This is a Kenya Project Team meeting, affiliated with the student organization Engineers Without Borders UMass. All are welcomed. Its a great time for students to find out how to get involved
This is the first meeting after our assessment trip. Here's a description of the project:
Namawanga village consists of approximately 3,000 residents who rely on inefficient water sources that are scattered up to two miles from their homes. Initial test results show that these sources are contaminated. The objective is to design a safe and sustainable water supply system for the village of Namawanga, which is environmentally conscious, economically feasible, and socially equitable. In addition the group plans to encourage community involvement through active participation and to form a long term relationship with the potential for further development within the village and region. The chapter's responsibility for every project includes fundraising, design, and implementation.
