Amherst-Binghamton Translation Studies Conference

A two-day graduate student research conference on translation studies, focusing on issues pertaining to translation across a range of critical and cultural perspectives, and seeking to encourage innovative interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary dialogue.

Initially spurred by the productive interchange among the translation studies students at the University of Massachusetts and those from SUNY Binghamton who came to the ATSA (American Translation Studies Association) meetings held at UMass in the spring of 2004, the Binghamton-Amherst Translation Conference is now holding its second annual meeting. The conference is an opportunity for students to exchange research ideas and to get peer review, as well as comments from the faculty of both programs. This two day conference will focus on issues pertaining to translation across a range of critical and cultural perspectives, and seeking to encourage innovative interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary dialogue.
