Faculty Reception in Learning Commons, Du Bois Library
The UMass Amherst Libraries will host the first annual faculty reception in the Learning Commons, where faculty will meet with their liaison librarian to discuss new resources, tour the Learning Commons, and view a demonstration of two plagiarism detection services: Turnitin and MyDropBox. A light lunch will be served.
The Faculty Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Student Plagiarism encourages faculty to try the plagiarism detection systems and provide feedback this semester. Faculty input will inform a recommendation to the Faculty Senate in fall 2006 regarding which, if any, plagiarism detection service should be provided at UMass Amherst.
