Faculty Senate Meeting
UMass System President Jack M. Wilson will present a “State of the University” address. While the specific content of his address has not yet been revealed, faculty senators are sure to raise questions on a wide variety of issues: the statusof the Higher Ed Bill now that health care has been resolved; the new “campus” on Post Office Square; the self-sufficiency and future of UMass Online; support of Amherst as the Flagship (and an increased percent of the system budget in recognition of unique “flagship” responsibilities such as world-class athletics and research); status of funding for faculty contracts; and homogenization of the academic campuses. It should be an exciting meeting.
