UMass SportsNight: Tips and Tales from Careers in Sports Media
Several accomplished alumni from the sports media world will speak about careers. Panelists include Elliott Kalb ’83, five time Sports Emmy winner and author of Who’s Better, Who’s Best in Baseball?; Wendy Nix, sportscaster for WHDH 7NEWS, Boston; Dan Wetzel ’94, sports columnist for Yahoo.com and co-author of Glory Road; and Matt Sacco ’04, manager for Sunrise Sports and Entertainment of Fort Lauderdale. The event will be moderated by Daily Hampshire Gazette sports writer, Matt Vautour ‘96.
The panel discussion will be followed by a Red Sox trivia contest and a free raffle for four Fenway bleacher seats for a September 1 game, among other prizes. A reception and booksigning event will be held from 6-7 p.m.
