El Silencio y La Palabra (The Silence and the Word)
The Austin Independent Media Center and Student/Farmworker Alliance present a film exploring the often-times clandestine nature of migration and agricultural work and the strength of the word, organization, and commitment of a farmworker community from the swamps of southwest Florida. El Silencio y La Palabra chronicles the Coalition of Immokalee Workers' most recent and final Taco Bell Truth Tour, which culminated in a historic victory concluding their four-year grassroots campaign against the world's largest fast-food corporation. The film is bilingual.
Plus a special guest appearance by none other than the clown himself: Ronald McDonald.
