Cosmic Beginnings and Human Ends: Where Science and Religion Meet
Five College Learning in Retirement presents a lecture by Cliff Matthews, whose continuing research on cosmochemistry and the origin of life has led him to use the unifying theme of universal evolution in all his teaching efforts. Dr Matthews was Professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1969 to 1992. In 1993, he organized a symposium on this topic for the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago, and again in 1999 in Capetown, South Africa. In 1999 he participated in the Synthesis Dialogues with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India.
