Jamnesty: A Jam For Justice

Students from high school and college Amnesty International groups across the Pioneer Valley are banding together to mount a large concert to stop violence against women across the globe, as part of AI’s "The Stop Violence Against Women Campaign.” They want to remind our community that every day women and girls around the world are threatened, beaten, raped, mutilated and killed with impunity.

The event, called Jamnesty: Jam for Justice, will feature local bands, speakers and tables piled high with information about women’s global human rights issues that range from the assaults on women and girls in Darfur, the Congo, and Columbia, torture, human trafficking, genital mutilation, to domestic abuse here in the United States.

Students and community members can drop by at any time during the benefit. Suggested donation to Amnesty International’s “The Stop Violence Against Women Campaign” is $5.00. All proceeds will go to directly help the women and girls in Darfur, Sudan.
