Exploring Islam in Southeast Asia: Teaching With a Global Perspective
Global Horizons at the Center for International Education presents a workshop that explores the essential role of Islam in the development of Southeast Asian cultures, literature, and arts. We will look into the spread and development of Islam and its significance to our "post September 11 world" in Southeast Asia, in particular the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. We will also explore ways to link U.S. and Philippine Madrash schools.
